Strep throat

Symptom

Important Notes

  • Protein doesn't stop strep throat infections
  • Strep bacteria: Caused by streptococcus bacteria
  • Multiple strep strains in the body: People can carry two, three, four, six, seven, or even eight different strains of strep in their system at once. Strep resides inside the gut, intestinal tract (including the colon), lymphatic system, and tonsils — not only in the throat. Strep in the gut is connected to IBS, SIBO, and bloating. Strep on the skin and between skin folds is a reservoir. Strep bacteria can also cause meningitis and other serious complications when a person is very run down.
  • Antibiotic resistance: Repeated antibiotic use creates antibiotic-resistant strains of strep. Antibiotics themselves are stored in the liver and can feed strep bacteria (refined petroleum and plastics in antibiotic formulations). While antibiotics initially help acute strep throat, overuse creates strains that evade treatment. Strep becomes harder to detect and treat over time.
  • EBV connection: Strep bacteria ride on the back of the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). When someone gets mono (EBV infection), they most likely will also have strep throat. Strep activity increases when EBV becomes active. Having multiple bouts of strep throat in childhood is a sign of EBV exposure. This EBV–strep relationship is unknown to conventional medicine.
